Prototypical Farmworker Housing
Monterey County, CA

This entry for farmworker housing was response to the fluxing family models that are invented to make housing affodable given the economies at play in a low-wage industry. Entitled "An Acre of Cropland," the entry looked at maximum densities of variable housing that could be integrated into demising lines between land ownership, with each owner losing just a half an acre to the project. Special attention was placed on the extreme miniaturization of spaces of privacy, allowing for expansive communal space both internally and externally, a key feature lost in most existing farmworker housing conditions.
