Right of Way
Columbus OH

Right of Way is a sixteen unit housing project planned for development on a purchased right of way in downtown Columbus. Rather than plan the site for traditional townhouse units, which would have reduced the number of units to six, the concept was to 'twist' LeCorbusier's quintessential Unite ninety degrees top to bottom, then fit these units together vertically like a puzzle. The project features a repeatable two story "scissor loft" that affords each two bedroom unit with a corner view of the city. While the site is quite small (44 feet in total width) the project still allows for two secure, common roof terraces that allow for exterior space to be either connected to or removed from the street.
