KENTE CLOTH ENVELOPE.

EBENEZER UMC

Planned as a campus for Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Columbus, we looked to Ghanaian ceremonial kente cloth as inspiration to wrap campus buildings in a tapestry of multicolored skin, holding the sacred spaces of two buildings. The first planned sanctuary building, shown here, is a 750 seat venue with separate 100 seat multi-use chapel. A future community and education building joins the sanctuary building by way of an outdoor conopy covered loose courtyard, where events can spill out and overlook eighteen acres of woodlands.

BL/OV masterplanned the site and provided fundraising materials for the congregation while phase one work was under design.
